"Paradís" is a virtual world inhabited solely by water and by places in a state of ruin in the Ebro Delta, both associated with what is the main economic activity in the area: rice cultivation. With the devastating consequences of climate change becoming more and more evident every day, this area has become one of the most threatened places in the Iberian Peninsula by rising sea levels, and the continuous differences in level between river, crops and sea are a key element in the preservation of this protected space, a "sanctuary" for its fauna, flora and population. This project, developed within the framework of artistic residencies of Eufònic + Centre d'art Lo Pati, is based on a special interest in abandoned spaces, their memory and conservation, and the primordial role they usually play in the collective imagination of each territory. Using the technique of photogrammetry or 3D scanning, some of these places within the Ebro Delta have been "frozen", stopping them at a point in time when they were on the verge of disappearing/dying, thus transferring them to a virtual refuge where they can not only be walked through again, but also enter into an imminent dialogue with the bubbling, glitchy appearance that 3D gives them, which in turn starts a conversation with the painting and the new forms it can take through digital media.
