“Sanctuary” is a virtual tour of a small floating world, impassively levitating somewhere between the sky and the sea. Created from multiple photogrammetries taken over a year and a half, the project is made up of small fragments of reality that are of special interest, either because of their historical context, because they have an aesthetic related to abandonment or terrain vagues, or because they establish a dialogue around deindustrialization and the landscape fossils it leaves behind. Through 3D recording, these specific places are “frozen” and protected in the cloud, immune to the passage of time and immovable, indifferent to the fact that their physical version is about to disappear forever. Protected thus under the digits, the whole is consecrated in a kind of sanctuary of abandonment and gives a divine and celestial character to these forgotten spaces, all of it being crossed by a pictorial intention and also constituting an immersive invitation to whoever transits it towards a place of refuge and reflection around painting that expands to new digital media.

"Santuario" is a project developed in the II Call for Artistic Residencies of LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial 2023 and whose interactive part has been developed with the help of the 3D artist Diego Paredes, and whose video has a sound piece made by lofácil (María Barrena and Carlos de Arquer) in 2024. This project was shown for the first time in the projector selection of the Montehermoso Kulturenea Cultural Center in collaboration with the UPV / EHU in March 2024. In 2024, the video becomes part of the HAMACA video archive and it continued its development in the residency of the Center for Artistic Residencies (CRA) of Matadero Madrid on environmental projects (2024).
